Filipinos residing in the Philippines, aged 18 to 64 can avail of the FREE COVID-19 protection and Personal Accident (PA) insurance, and must be registered users and have completed their profile on Pulse, Pru Life UK’s health management app. Health workers are eligible and are encouraged to avail for the COVID-19 coverage, subject to the terms and conditions.

They should be in good health at the time of registration and with no conditions excluded by the terms and conditions of the FREE COVID-19 cover.

The FREE COVID-19 coverage and Personal Accident (PA) insurance will be available from April 13 to July 15, 2020 or until the first 1 M Filipinos have successfully registered on the Pulse app for the offer, whichever comes first.

The offer is extended until June 15, 2020 or until the first 1,000,000 Filipinos have successfully registered on the Pulse app for the offer, whichever comes first.

Under the FREE COVID-19 protection and Personal Accident (PA) insurance, policyholders will receive 45-day coverage with the following benefits:

  • Accidental Death and Disablement worth Php 100,000; OR
  • Death Benefit worth Php 100,000, in case of death due or total disability due to accident OR
  • Death Benefit worth Php 100,000, should the insured pass away due to COVID-19
  • Burial Benefit worth Php 10,000 in case of death due to COVID-19 or any illness (excluding accident)

The maximum benefit that can be received by non-health workers is PhP 110,000 if death is due to accident, or as a result of COVID-19, subject to terms and conditions. Eligible health workers will receive a double COVID-19 death benefit and burial benefit of Php 210,000. Beneficiaries cannot claim Death benefit for Personal Accident and COVID-19 at the same time.

No, the FREE COVID-19 protection and Personal Accident coverage is Pru Life UK’s initiative to safeguard Filipinos amid the coronavirus. Availment of this offer does not require any purchase of a new insurance product.

No. The offer is open to all Filipinos, including employees and agents of Pru Life UK, and their families, subject to eligibility requirements under terms and conditions. There is no special or separate process for registration to get the FREE COVID-19 and Personal Accident insurance. All registrations must be done via the Pulse app.

  1. If you are existing Pulse user, an in-app notification will be sent to advise you to begin registration for the FREE COVID-19 protection and Personal Accident (PA) insurance and complete your user profile details and other required information such as mobile number, occupation, and scanned government ID.
  2. If you are not a yet PULSE user, you may download the app for free from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, sign up for an account using email Facebook or Gmail accounts, and complete your user profile details and other required information such as mobile number, occupation, and scanned government ID in the Profile section. Upon registration, the applicant will receive an email confirming the policy. The same process applies to the nominated beneficiary.

Only the following Government IDs are accepted:

  • Passport
  • Driver’s license
  • SSS ID
  • Unified Multi-purpose ID

In case your ID number and/or name is not captured well by the camera, or you do not have any of these IDs at the time of registration, Pulse will also accept the details you will provide by simply typing directly on the fields provided. Please avoid hyphens or other special characters.

No, Pru Life UK will not pay the Benefit for Death due to COVID-19 if the Insured:

  • Was under Mandatory Quarantine in the past 14 days immediately prior to the date of registration; or
  • At the time of registration, is residing in the same address with any person: (a) under Mandatory Quarantine, or (b) being recommended by a doctor to undergo a COVID-19 diagnostic test, or (c) awaiting the result of a COVID-19 diagnostic test; or
  • On or after the registration date, is under Mandatory Quarantine due to entry into Philippines from places outside Philippines; or
  • On or after the registration date, is residing in the same address with any person under Mandatory Quarantine due to entry into Philippines from places outside the Philippines; or
  • Is diagnosed with COVID-19 outside the Philippines

The product is a preemptive measure for COVID-19.

Pru Life UK will not be paying the death benefit if the insured at the time of registration is:

  • Under Mandatory Quarantine 14 days immediately prior to the date of registration
  • Is residing in the same address with any person: (a) under Mandatory Quarantine, or (b) being recommended by doctor to undergo a COVID-19 diagnostic test, or (c) awaiting the result of a COVID-19 diagnostic test; or
  • On or after the registration date, is under Mandatory Quarantine due to entry into Philippines from places outside Philippines; or
  • On or after the registration date, is residing in the same address with any person under Mandatory Quarantine due to entry into Philippines from places outside the Philippines; or
  • diagnosed with COVID-19 outside the Philippines

For purposes of the COVID-19 cover, a “health worker” refers to all workers employed in organizations or institutions whose primary intent is to improve health. This covers the following occupations:

  • Health service providers
    • Professionals e.g. doctor, nurse
    • Associates e.g. laboratory technician
    • Other community health service providers e.g. traditional practitioner
  • Health management and support workers
    • Professionals e.g. accountant
    • Associates e.g. administrative professional
    • Support staff e.g. clerical workers, drivers
    • Craft and trade workers e.g. painter

You must download, register via the PULSE app to get the COVID-19 insurance and Personal Accident coverage.

There will be no underwriting process for the FREE COVID-19 protection and Personal Accident (PA) insurance, which means that the insured is automatically entitled to the benefits right after their registration and completion of profile on PULSE. Both you and your beneficiary will receive a confirmation via email.

An insured person cannot own multiple Certificates of Cover (COC) under his/her name. Only one COC is allowed per person. Any secondary availment for another COC under for the same person as insured shall be invalidated.

The policy term of this insurance is until 45 days from the policy effective date, which is specified in the Certificate of Cover.

You can extend your COVID-19 with PA coverage for another 45 days by successfully referring at least 3 of your friends or family to download the Pulse App and complete the registration until July 15, 2020. Just follow these steps:

  1. In your Pulse app, Click the 45-day extension box
  2. Choose at least 3 persons to share the Pulse app Share via SMS/Viber, Facebook/Messenger plus other apps
  3. Once Pulse has validated the registration of 3 of your referrals, you will receive a confirmation email and your MyPolicies in the app will be updated as a proof of your 45-day extension

The 3 successful referrals should be done from June 10 until July 15 in order to avail of the 45-day extension coverage.

Yes, you can start referring 3 of your family and friends to download the Pulse app. You will receive the extension confirmation as soon as your coverage expires.

The Pulse app will validate if there were three (3) successful registration from your referrals.

If your initial 45-day COVID-19 coverage with PA insurance has previously expired, you will receive a confirmation email with your new Certificate of Cover and the MyPolicies section of your Pulse will be updated.

Your 3 successful referrals can download the Pulse app and avail of the Free COVID-19 coverage and PA insurance offer until July 15, 2020.

The following are the requirements for claims submissions. Beneficiaries will be advised in due time how they can their requirements:

  • The claimant’s statement;
  • The attending physician’s statement(s);
  • The original death certificate or its certified true copy;
  • The laboratory result form issued by Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (or equivalent agency) stating Covered Person tested positive for COVID-19
  • Proof of employment (e.g. employment certificate, payslip) if Covered Person is a health worker

Once this is done, beneficiaries will receive their benefit as a lump sum after 19 working days, either through any of the following options to be specified by the beneficiary: fund transfer, GCash, and cheque pick-up (only available after the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine has been lifted or until such time our operations have normalized).

All Policyholders of the COVID-19 insurance and PA coverage have the option to assign a beneficiary immediately upon registration on the PULSE app.

To nominate your beneficiary, you will need to input the ID and email address of your beneficiary on the app. A notification will then be sent to your beneficiary to register and log in to PULSE.

If you choose not to register a beneficiary immediately or missed to nominate a beneficiary after the policy has been issued, your policy application will still be valid. The Add Beneficiary feature is available by doing the following steps:

  1. Log in to your Pulse account and click on My Policies.
  2. Click on the COVID-19 protection and Personal Accident (PA) coverage product.
  3. Click on the Add beneficiaries link.
  4. Fill-out the required information of beneficiary: ID number, full name, email address, and relation to insured. Remember to avoid hyphens or other special characters. Once done, click submit. The app currently accepts only 1 beneficiary.

If you wish to change or edit your beneficiary, you are encouraged to do so at any time during the period of coverage or 45-days upon policy effectivity. Please stay tuned for more updates.

The COVID-19 benefit is for death due to this disease. In case of accident or disablement, the policyholder may claim for such benefits in the COC.

Pru Life UK is also offering an additional hospital benefit of Php1,000 daily if they are hospitalized due to COVID-19. This is valid from February 20 to April 20, 2020. This may be availed by life insured whose life insurance policy is in force with the Hospital Income Rider, issued on or before January 31, 2020.

Besides this, Pru Life UK has also extended the grace period for premium payments with due dates from March 16 until June 30, 2020. The grace period is extended from the standard 31 days to 60 days for all Pru life UK’s policyholders nationwide.

  • In case your government ID number and/or name is not captured well by the camera, you can manually input it. Please avoid hyphens or other special characters.
  • Double check your birthdate as sometimes the system sets it to 2019 as the default year.
  • Please check your email spam or junk folders for the confirmation notice and Certificates of Cover (COC).

Yes, you are still insured but we don’t recommend uninstalling the Pulse app to continue enjoying the services offered.

Yes, your registration and free Covid-19 protection and PA Coverage is still valid within the 45-day coverage period.

The correction of name in COC facility in Pulse is still for development. In the meantime, you can report the incorrect name to PRU Customer Action Team at contact.us@prulifeuk.com.ph.

If no BENEFICIARY is named or alive and qualified at the time of death claim, the benefit will be paid in the following order of precedence, in equal shares:

  1. to the legal spouse and children of the Life Insured,
  2. his/her parents,
  3. sibling/s, or
  4. estate.

No, we don’t allow multiple coverages for one person.

The free COVID-19 protection and personal accident (PA) insurance is not convertible to any plans.

No, the coverage will end after 45 days.

In My Policy section of the app, click Update Beneficiary. This will allow the policyowner to change his/her beneficiary.

In the absence of a passport or school ID for minors. You may use a birth certificate. It is recognized as a valid secondary ID.

The insured/policyowner may name anyone as his/her beneficiary if that person shall suffer financial loss should anything happen to him/her. Common law wife/husband may be named as beneficiary as long as neither of them is married to another person.

There will be no e-certificate showing both COVID 19 protection and PA Coverage, as the COVID 19 protection is already covered in the Terms and Conditions of the Product.

Interested consumers may simply download PULSE from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store and register for an account and complete the profile details to avail of the benefit. Only one registration per user is valid.

Yes, both new and existing PULSE users are eligible for the FREE COVID-19 protection and Personal Accident (PA) insurance.

From launch date, Pru Life UK will constantly monitor the progress of registrations for this offer. We may consider a possible extension should there depending on the response from the public.
